Facetite is a popular procedure which produces a three-dimensional contraction of the skin and tissues immediately underneath skin using a Radio Frequency to heat up the tissues in and under the skin. The Facetite<\/a> procedure results in the tightening of skin and reducing fat. Many of our clients have questions about the procedure so we’ve put together this set of helpful Facetite FAQs to answer some of the queries you may have.<\/p>\n

What are the advantages of undergoing a FaceTite procedure?<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the biggest advantages of the FaceTite procedure is that it can be undertaken as an out-patient under local anaesthesia without the more invasive or complex nature of face lifting surgery or overnight\u00a0hospital stay. The tissues of the face, the neck, and now even the cheeks, eyelids and brow can be gently but effectively rejuvenated, tightened. This can lead to a significant improvement which is also long lasting. Unlike most other energy-based skin tightening technologies, the FaceTite is \u2018bipolar\u2019 using two \u2018electrodes\u2019 which allows more accurate and focussed energy application, the use of local anaesthetic means that the settings can be set to the optimum level to try to achieve the best possible outcome.\"facetite<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why do patients have this operation done? What are the main reasons? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Patients who choose to have this procedure are those who might be concerned about, or feel they are not yet ready for a surgical intervention. You will still expect to have some bruising and some swelling but generally less downtime which is another attractive feature. The patient will always look natural and never look \u2018operated\u2019, \u2018stretched\u2019, or \u2018post-surgical\u2019.<\/p>\n

How effective are the results? <\/strong><\/p>\n

You will be likely to see some of the results, say 20% on the day of treatment but the rest slowly comes over time as healing progresses and the tissues are remodelled; the final result could be expected after 3 to 6 months though some patients continue to improve for even longer. With appropriate patient selection the outcome of the procedure can be excellent.<\/p>\n

What is your before and after surgery advice to patients? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I often advise evidence-based skin care to prepare for the treatment. We of course discuss how to look after the face and neck after treatment including wearing a support garment but you would be provided with a post treatment after care patient advice leaflet. I usually prescribe a short course of antibiotics, and patients should be careful to protect the skin of the face and neck from strong sunlight for some weeks.

Who is the ideal candidate for a FaceTite procedure?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nearly everyone can benefit from the FaceTite but patients who have a moderate degree of maturity in the face, perhaps with some early jowls and a moderate degree of skin laxity can benefit significantly. Patients with very thin or sun damaged skin or a history of long-term smoking et cetera will still often achieve benefit, but to a lesser degree. The ideal candidate will be someone who is not wanting to choose surgery but does want a natural, gentle rejuvenation of their tissues.<\/p>\n
