Theatre/Clinic Nurse for a Private Medical Practice

Location: Sawston Cambridge

Salary:  £32k-£36k Depending on Experience

Job Types: Full-time, 8.30am-5.00pm

Responsibilities:

  • You will report to the Director of the Clinic and the Practice Manager.
  • The role you will be undertaking will include leading the patient on their journey through the Clinic from greeting at the door, offering refreshments, taking them through the consultation; supporting the patient to choose the correct treatment, all the way through to completion of treatment. This clinic believes in a more approachable, friendly service with the experience of the patient always being placed above making profit and offering the best evidence-based treatments for patients.
  • The clinics aim is to support patients at all stages of their journey with the post holder following up with phone calls regularly to see how the patient is progressing on the road to recovery and healing.
  • Post operative dressing changes will also be your responsibility.
  • Promote safeguarding and risk management in respect of patients, employees and visitors
  • Providing comprehensive care to perioperative patients who have undergone day surgery.
  • You will be required to keep comprehensive medical notes including photography of patients at consultation, these will need to be stored electronically onto the computer system, so a knowledge of ICT is needed.
  • You will also assist the Clinic Director during surgical procedures, training will be given where needed to adhere to the clinic’s high standards.
  • Ancillary duties will include administrative assistance to the Practice Manager when required, checking your emails, plus other duties as required.
  • Coordinate use of supplies and equipment – ensuring all is safe and ready to use as well as monitor and order stock for operative procedures.
  • Assemble, check and prepare appropriate surgical instruments and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures – any faults need to be reported to theatre manager immediately.

The Role:

  • Our clinic currently has a vacancy for a Theatre/Outpatient Nurse. The clinic is in Sawston, Cambridge and is CQC approved so adheres to a high standard within the surgery and aesthetics industry.
  • The role is a full-time position and is 5 days a week with some occasional weekend work depending on the needs of the patient, these appointments will be arranged in advance.
  • This job role will be a combination of preoperative and post operative, outpatient clinic and theatre. You will be assisting one of the top plastic surgeons in the UK. This role would suit someone who has an interest in the Plastics industry with experience and knowledge of surgical procedures.
  • The ideal candidate would be someone who has a passion for surgery, patient care, and body improvement via non-invasive treatments and surgical treatments.
  • The ideal candidate must have a sensitive approach as patients who enter the clinic are coming for life changing treatments to improve their self-esteem as well as their aesthetic appearance. This job is a very versatile role, and no two days are the same.

  • We are looking for a skilled Clinic/Theatre Nurse who has experience in either a surgical setting, theatres or an outpatient style clinic.
  • Preferably you will have experience and some knowledge in Plastic Surgery, including mole removals, lumps and bumps, skin lesions, but ideally within Minor Procedures in a minor operations suite setting.
  • If you have Scrubbed in theatres and assisted surgeons, this would be ideal because this Clinic role will be working within the minor operations suite, chaperoning patients and doctors, passing instruments in a sterile field and assisting the surgeon with Plastic or dermatology procedures.
  • If you mix the scrubbing skills with any outpatient clinic experience, then we would love to hear from you! The role will involve day case surgery with or without sedation, with patients returning for wound care, dressing changes, follow up appointments and more.
