Hectic modern life means that with time the face loses volume leading to wrinkles and sagging. That’s upsetting because it can make you look older and tired, even when you are not. That’s not fair or right! The latest techniques for safely placing tissue fillers can help not only to restore what’s been lost: if you really know anatomy (hint - we do), fillers can be used to lift, to fill, to smooth. Get some of the old ‘you’ back so you can show off, not hide your charm and character!Book Consultation

Dermal fillers & Anti-Aging injections

Dermal Fillers are constantly improving which is why it is vital that when choosing where to have them done that you choose a clinic where there are experienced, qualified clinicians who have a indepth knowledge of facial anatomy.
We would recommend Dermal Fillers to those who wish to restore volume in areas of their face. Different fillers are used for the various areas of the face but ultimately they all result in the same outcome – the tissues are lifted and fine lines and wrinkles are significantly reduced.

Here at Cambridge Clear Beauty, we tend to work with Juvéderm by Allergan with the latest Vycross cross linking technology and we ensure that you are offered only the latest Dermal Fillers.

  • Dermal fillers
    • Fillers have also been used for decades but are continuously being improved; the newer fillers no longer need allergy testing. At Cambridge Clear Beauty we tend to now use the Vycross range of fillers from Allergan; these come in several varieties each with slightly different properties for different parts of the face and to produce slightly different outcomes but basically to restore volume and, used appropriately, to help lift the tissues.Classically these fillers have been used simply to fill in defects or depressions or to add gross bulk but techniques have been improved. I now follow the techniques and have been trained by the Brazilian plastic surgeon Maurizio de Mayo who is a leading expert in the use of fillers in facial rejuvenation. Both fat grafting and fillers have been proven to improve the elasticity and recoil of the tissues of the face. Fillers then can be used simply in very specific areas such as cheeks for volume or the nasolabial folds between the outer corners of the nose and the outer corners of the mouth. filler rejuvenation; a possible top up at a year but they last for differing times at different sites in the face.Alternatively, they can be used taking advantage of the knowledge of the facial anatomy, the fat pads and ligaments of the face to maximize their advantage using techniques such as the 8 point facelift and coming on from that the so called ‘MD Codes’ methodology of facial filler rejuvenation; filler rejuvenation; We now offer these techniques in my new Clinic, ‘Cambridge Clear Beauty’ in Great Shelford, Cambridge. These latter techniques do require much more anatomical knowledge and specific training but can be used to create a more all- encompassing pan facial rejuvenation with attention to all areas but then resulting in an overall much more significant yet natural aesthetic rejuvenation outcome. The Vycross range of fillers can last 18 months to 2 years but often benefit from a possible top up at a year but they last for differing times at different sites in the face.
  • Anti-wrinkle Injections
    • This is a purified toxin which is administered to reduce wrinkles. It works by stopping muscles from working and it has been used for decades to stop unwanted muscle activity such as muscle spasm and muscle tics but then moved into the cosmetic / aesthetic arena as it was realized that it could also stop the muscles that are responsible for making wrinkles. It takes several days to develop its effect. With Botox one is exchanging wrinkles for spontaneous expression and not all expressions are unwanted so in my view it is best used for the frown lines at the brow and the crow’s feet lines at the sides of the eyes as the wrinkles caused by expression at these areas are not often desirable. It can be used elsewhere in the face but has a lesser benefit cost ratio. It is not a filler and so does not restore volume, it simply softens wrinkles. The effects can last between 3 – 6 months and for most people on average 4 months before needing a top up. It has now of course been used worldwide for millions of patients and when used correctly, in the correct formulation, by an appropriately qualified and trained specialist, it is very effective and safe.Classically these fillers have been used simply to fill in defects or depressions or to add gross bulk but techniques have been improved.
