Pre-Operative Guidelines
Proper preparation is essential for a safe procedure and smooth recovery.
Please follow these guidelines carefully in the weeks leading up to your appointment.
Preparation Checklist
- Attend all pre-operative assessments and consultations
- Disclose your full medical history, including any medications and supplements
- Arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours
- Follow all fasting instructions provided by your surgical team
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing on the day of your procedure
- Prepare your recovery area at home with essentials within easy reach
Important Reminders
- Do not take any medication for 2 weeks prior to the procedure without consulting with Mr Ahmad or your doctor
- Avoid smoking for at least 4 weeks before surgery, as it impairs healing
- Do not consume alcohol for 48 hours before your procedure
- Avoid applying fake tan, moisturisers, or perfume on the day of surgery
- Do not eat or drink after midnight if instructed to fast
Recovery & Aftercare
Recovery varies depending on the procedure, but our team provides detailed aftercare instructions tailored to you. Below is a general timeline to help you understand what to expect during your healing journey.
Day 1–3
Rest is essential. Mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort are normal. Take prescribed medications as directed and keep your head elevated.
Week 1
Attend your follow-up appointment for wound checks. Light walking is encouraged. Avoid bending, lifting, or strenuous activity.
Week 2–4
Bruising and swelling continue to subside. Most patients return to desk-based work after 1–2 weeks. Continue wearing compression garments if advised.
Month 1–3
Gradual return to normal activities, including exercise. Final results begin to emerge as tissues settle and heal.
Month 3–12
Scars continue to mature and fade. Follow-up consultations ensure optimal healing and satisfaction with results.
* Recovery timelines are general guides. Individual results vary depending on the procedure type, patient anatomy, healing response, and adherence to post-operative guidance.
