Adult acne can seem very unfair. It’s bad enough to suffer from acne when you’re in your teens, but when you’re long past that phase of your life and you’re still dealing with zits, it can be an absolute nightmare.

And it’s a far more widespread problem than you’d think: clinical studies in the United States reveal that between 40 and 55% of people aged between 20 and 40 still suffer from low-grade, persistent acne and oily skin. We may all want to look younger than we really are, but no-one wants to look like we did when we were 14.

What causes adult acne?

It’s easy to explain teenage acne: puberty causes our hormones to go berserk and over-produce natural lubricants, which can cause our skin pores to clog up. When this happens, bacteria gets trapped, causing swelling and redness.

Adult acne is a little more complex: it can be also brought on by hormonal changes, but stress is a huge factor too, as is artificially clogging the pores with make-up and poor lifestyle choices with diet and alcohol.

What can a chemical peel do to help?

In a nutshell, it can hit the reset button on your skin. A chemical peel is a procedure which involves the application of certain compounds to your face, which exfoliates and speeds up cell turnover to slough away dead cells and the patina of accumulated oils.

Please do be aware, though, that a chemical peel isn’t the magic solution for banishing acne forever – although your face will feel clearer than ever before, it’ll be up to you to ensure the zits don’t return, by an improved diet and facial cleansing regime.

If you’re looking to finally take the plunge and do something about adult acne, why not take the first step today: get in touch with us here at Cambridge Clear Beauty at your earliest convenience, and we’ll spell out the full details on this invaluable treatment.

i had my breast reduction surgery last year and just had my last appointment today! Dr ahmad has been amazing since the very start. he makes you feel listened to, he’s very trusting and makes you feel safe. i was scared going into this procedure because id wanted it for so long and i didn’t know what the outcome would be like but he has made me able to connect with myself again and im so much more happy and confident. his team that work along side him and with you throughout the process are all just amazing people and i couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thankyou very much to all of you for what you have done for me ❤️

I had a mole removal done and the process was AMAZING. You cannot see a scar, or any sign of anything done - it healed really well, and was done really professionally.
