Its that time of the year again..our favourite if we may say. It been an exciting year for Cambridge Clear Beauty with numerous updates, awards and loads of successful treatments provided.
We also launched our brand new website which includes a number of new services and treatments provided and have also aligned ourselves to the digital r-evolution with brand new social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone one of you as well as all the people that have this year a tremendous success for us as we know their contribution has been invaluable to our cause of providing high quality care and treatments. Already it’s that time of the year again and we have a whole host of things to do to celebrate Christmas.

Over the Counter (OTC) products are available all around us from the local pharmacy to supermarkets and they all claim amazing results. The sheer abundance of skincare products can leave you overwhelmed without any real understanding of what’s right for your skin.
These types of products, which you can pick up on the high street or the supermarket are going to be purely cosmetic and will only have superficial effects on the top layer of skin.

2016 has been a tough year for everyone and all that stress can really take a toll on your skin. We have a number of treatment options, from chemical peels to laser skin rejuvenation, to deal with lacklustre, grey complexions or poor skin texture.
Chemical peels are one of the oldest treatments for resurfacing skin and work by applying a solution which makes the top layer of skin blister and peel away.
The new skin underneath is smoother and generally less wrinkled than the older skin. Whilst it’s generally rejuvenating and will improve the look and feel of the skin it’s particularly good for reducing fine lines under the eyes and mouth, tackling sun damage and scars and even treating certain types of acne.
Laser skin resurfacing (LSR) is growing in popularity, not least because of the ongoing developments in the technology. Like the chemical peel LSR can help with scarring sun damage and reducing wrinkles. In this case the laser is applied directly to the skin, which removes the outermost layer.
Normally the procedure will be carried out under a local or general anaesthetic and the patient can expect some initial discomfort whilst a crust forms on the surface but after this sheds the new skin is revealed.
The procedure also stimulates the production of collagen which is generally beneficial to healthy skin and will continue to have positive effects over time.

All I want for Christmas… is to look 10 years younger! Christmas at Cambridge Clear Beauty we can help you achieve just that this Christmas.
With Botox to smooth out those worry lines and dermal fillers to deal with any deeper creases, we’ve got the wrinkles covered, and we can use chemical peels and laser treatments to give your skin a rejuvenating radiance.
Botox, or botulinum toxin to give it its full name, is a particularly flexible treatment which doesn’t require an anaesthetic. Although the results are not quite immediate (normally it takes about a week) the effects will last approximately 6 to 9 months.
There’s certainly plenty of time to get the treatment in time for the Christmas party season. The procedure has hardly any downtime, although you may notice some mild soreness and bruising in the first couple of days after the treatment.
Also, it is worth noting that botox is a neurotoxin and is a prescription drug so it should only be administered by a qualified medical practitioner such as our own cosmetic plastic surgeon Tariq Ahmad. Time it right and you could easily look 10 years younger in time for the Christmas party.
Whilst chemical peels and laser treatments are a little more invasive and can bring some downtime whilst the resurfacing work on the affected area heals, they are both highly effective treatments for a range of skin issues from sun damage to even some types of acne.
