Mr Ahmad performed a blepharoplasty 6 weeks ago. I now feel so much better can’t believe I left it so long. The difference is amazing.
I can highly recommend both him and his clinic team. My experience from start to finish was professional friendly and not at any point did a worry or feel nervous.
Thank you

I’m so happy with my experience and results. Not only has my breathing improved significantly, but aesthetically my nose looks so natural that no one would ever guess I’ve had anything done—which was really important to me. My face looks more balanced, softer, and overall more youthful.

Mr Ahmad has a real artistic eye, and that made all the difference. He didn’t just focus on changing my nose, but on how it would harmonise with the rest of my features. The result is a subtle, cute nose that genuinely suits my face.

I also really appreciated how straightforward and manageable the aftercare was—it made the whole process feel much less overwhelming. Overall, I feel more confident, more comfortable in myself, and I can finally breathe properly. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

Thank you
I have lost two close relatives to malignant melanoma. I was referred on by my GP for ‘ urgent skin cancer assessment’ of a suspicious mark on my face. NHS. It was a two week wait for a photo then a predicted 3 week wait for a result sent to me by text. With fair Scots skin and family history, l struggled with what would be a 5 week wait just for a diagnosis.

I made an appointment at the clinic. I got an appointment and a result within days. Thankfully negative. The result was told to me by a person, not the text message the NHS promised. I also got skin care advice and a prescription for previously undetected sun damage which l greatly appreciate. I was treated with utmost kindness and courtesy. I am so grateful that l heard your radio advert offering this service.

I underwent a rhinoplasty surgery with Mr Ahmad over 3 years ago.

Preparation for the surgery could have been more thorough. I was unaware of extent of recovery timeline and importantly, what this could look like. I had swelling for well over two years and even now the tip is still refining. I understand now how complex a surgery this is.

In hindsight I wish Mr Ahmad, like the majority of other surgeons as I understand, had provided an image or drawing of what he had in mind prior to the surgery.

The early recovery was hard, I had a lot of swelling, bruising, and looked completely unrecognisable. This was somewhat expected though did seem at the more severe end of the scale. The surgery took 4.5 hours.

Following the surgery I was left with an asymmetrical residual hump, depression through centre of nose, retracted nostrils and a large scar on one nostril through error of Mr Ahmad as I understand, though he was never forthcoming in explaining reasoning. I felt it had a ‘done’ look and could have been more natural. After the surgery, as I was not entirely happy with the result given the above, and ironically at this stage and not before, Mr Ahmad suggested therapy or that I may have body dysmorphia, to correct the relationship with my nose. Therapy was not offered prior to the surgery of course. I felt very much gaslit and on meeting with other practitioners concerns were understood and addressed.

Another insensitive moment came when I mentioned perhaps spending too much time on Instagram, where content served to me is focused on appearance. Mr Ahmad replied they liked Instagram, alluding to it’s how they make their money.

Mr Ahmad offered to correct the scar on my nostril, which improved it somewhat though not entirely it is still visible. Ironically during the procedure Mr Ahmad nearly nipped my lip with the scissors, much to the nurse’s surprise. Not the comforting attention to detail of a surgeon.

I've had three deep face peels, scar revision on some deep acne scars and skin consultations with him and his staff and my skin now looks the best it has for years after suffering from sun damaged, acne prone skin for a long time I never imagined my skin could look so good.
I've been told the best products to use for my skin type etc.

I had a septorhinoplasty with Mr Ahmad to correct a post-traumatic deviated septum. I had undergone surgery when I was younger, but it hadn’t fully resolved the breathing issues in one nostril, and I was also self-conscious about my nose profile.

From the very beginning, Mr Ahmad took the time to listen carefully and make detailed notes, even producing incredibly precise drawings to capture what we discussed. His insights into what would suit my face best were invaluable, and it’s clear that his experience and knowledge guided the outcome.

The results have been outstanding. My nose has healed beautifully, with a natural appearance that feels completely in harmony with my features. Most importantly, I can now breathe freely through both nostrils, which has made a huge difference to my day-to-day life—improving sleep, exercise, and overall wellbeing.

What impressed me further was that Mr Ahmad was able to achieve this through a closed approach, which I understand is particularly challenging, but a testament to his years of expertise and recognition in the field.

Equally, the team around him were fantastic throughout the process. I always felt reassured, supported, and in safe hands at every stage of my treatment.

I am absolutely delighted with the outcome and would wholeheartedly recommend Mr Ahmad. His skill, professionalism, and care have been exceptional.

I had my top eyelids trimmed back and my bottom eyebags removed.
I did have extensive bruising that was explained by Mr Ahmad would happen. My top eyelids healed fairly quickly but the bottom eyebags are more difficult. Mr Ahmad and Nikki have always answered my questions and have always seen me regularly or when iv had a worry and eased my concerns.
Overall, my eyes are healing now, and after 3 months are doing well and looking much better. Mr Ahmad told me it could take up to a year for my healing process to end.
As it is an invasive surgery I can understand why, but thankfully its getting there and I'm pleased with how my results are starting to look.
I trust Mr Ahmad 100% as he has always been very professional and kind.

A bulbous nasal tip appears rounded or wide, creating a ball-like appearance that can make the nose seem disproportionately large or draw attention away from other facial features. Whilst a bulbous tip doesn’t affect nasal function or breathing, many people find it affects facial harmony, particularly when it draws attention or feels out of proportion with their other features.

At Cambridge Clear Beauty, Mr Ahmad can refine and reshape a bulbous nasal tip with rhinoplasty surgery catered to your nasal anatomy and aesthetic concerns.

What is a Bulbous Nasal Tip?

heading
Bulbous Nose | Bulbous Nose Tip | Bulbous Nose Job | Bulbous Nose Before and After

A bulbous nasal tip is a rounded, wide or undefined tip that lacks the refinement and definition many people desire. Rather than appearing sculpted or tapered, the tip has a ball-like or bulky appearance that can make the nose seem disproportionately large or draw attention away from other facial features.

This characteristic develops when the lower lateral cartilages that form the nasal tip are naturally thick, widely spaced or lack the angular structure that creates definition. In some cases, excess soft tissue at the tip contributes to the rounded appearance. While some people have a mildly rounded tip that’s only noticeable to them, others have a prominently bulbous tip that significantly affects the overall appearance and proportion of the nose.

What Causes a Bulbous Nasal Tip?

heading

There are a few factors that cause a bulbous nasal tip. These include:

Genetics and Inherited Nasal Structure

The most significant factor determining tip shape is genetics. If family members have bulbous or rounded nasal tips, you’re more likely to inherit similar cartilage structure, soft tissue distribution and overall tip characteristics. These inherited traits are present from birth and become more apparent as the nose develops during adolescence.

Thick or Wide-Set Lower Lateral Cartilages

The lower lateral cartilages are the paired structures that form the nasal tip and determine its shape and definition. When these cartilages are naturally thick, bulky or positioned widely apart, they create a rounded appearance rather than a narrow, sculpted tip.

Excess Soft Tissue and Skin Thickness

Some people naturally have more soft tissue or fat in the nasal tip area, which adds bulk and creates a fuller, rounder appearance. Thick nasal skin can also obscure underlying cartilage and make the tip appear less refined, particularly in individuals with oily or sebaceous skin.

Ageing and Cartilage Changes

As we age, nasal cartilage can weaken, thicken or shift, sometimes causing a previously well-defined tip to appear more bulbous over time. The cartilages may spread or droop as structural support weakens and skin elasticity decreases. These changes tend to develop slowly and may become more noticeable with age.

Previous Nasal Injury or Surgery

Trauma to the nose or previous nasal surgery can sometimes change the structure and support of the nasal tip. Injuries may shift or damage the nasal cartilage, causing it to heal in a way that creates asymmetry or excess fullness at the tip. Similarly, after rhinoplasty, scar tissue formation or changes to the underlying cartilage can occasionally alter the shape of the tip over time.

Should I Consider Treatment for a Bulbous Nasal Tip?

heading

The decision to treat a bulbous nasal tip is entirely personal and depends on how much the rounded appearance bothers you, how it affects your confidence and what outcome you hope to achieve.

When it Bothers You

Many people consider treatment when they feel their nose appears disproportionately large in photos, when the rounded tip draws attention away from other facial features or when they feel self-conscious about the lack of definition.

Understand What Can Be Achieved

Refining a bulbous tip depends on the thickness of your cartilages, the amount of soft tissue present and your skin quality. Most bulbous tips can be significantly refined to create better definition and a more sculpted appearance; however, very thick nasal skin may limit how much refinement is visible, as the skin cannot drape as tightly over reshaped cartilage.

When it Affects Facial Proportions

The nasal tip is a prominent focal point that significantly influences overall facial balance. When the tip appears disproportionately wide or rounded, it can make the entire nose seem larger than it actually is and draw attention away from your eyes and other features.

Treatment Options for a Bulbous Nasal Tip at Cambridge Clear Beauty

heading

Surgical Treatments

Surgery is the only effective solution for refining a bulbous nasal tip and creating better definition.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is the main treatment for creating a bulbous nasal tip. During the procedure, Mr Ahmad reshapes and refines the cartilage that forms the nasal tip to reduce excess width and improve definition. This may involve reshaping the lower lateral cartilages, removing or repositioning excess tissue and adjusting the tip structure to create a more balanced nasal contour.

Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty corrects a bulbous or over-rounded tip resulting from a previous rhinoplasty that didn’t achieve the desired refinement or created unintended tip fullness. This procedure focuses on correcting residual fullness, asymmetry or structural issues from the prior surgery. As revision cases involve working with scar tissue or altered cartilage, the procedure is often more complex and requires careful surgical planning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes a bulbous nose?

A bulbous nose is typically caused by the shape and structure of the nasal tip cartilage. When the lower lateral cartilages are wider, thicker or positioned further apart than usual, the tip of the nose can appear round or enlarged. In some cases, thicker skin over the nasal tip can also contribute to the appearance. Genetics is the most common cause, though previous nasal trauma or prior rhinoplasty can also influence the shape of the nasal tip.

A bulbous nose refers to a nasal tip that appears rounded, wide or lacking definition. Instead of having a refined or pointed tip, the nose may look fuller or more prominent at the end. This characteristic can affect the overall balance of facial features, particularly when the tip appears disproportionately large compared to the bridge of the nose or other facial structures.

The most effective way to correct a bulbous nose is through rhinoplasty. During the procedure, the surgeon reshapes and refines the nasal tip cartilage to create better definition and improve overall nasal proportions. This may involve narrowing, repositioning or reshaping the lower lateral cartilages to produce a more refined nasal tip. The exact technique used will depend on your anatomy and the degree of fullness in the nasal tip.

Non-surgical treatments cannot reduce the size of a bulbous nasal tip because they cannot change the structure of the cartilage. In some cases, injectable treatments may be used to create the illusion of better balance by adjusting the surrounding areas of the nose, but they do not reduce tip fullness. Surgical rhinoplasty remains the most reliable way to refine and reshape a bulbous nasal tip.

Yes, rhinoplasty provides long-lasting results because it reshapes the underlying cartilage and nasal structure. While swelling can take several months to fully settle, the structural changes made during surgery are permanent.
