People all over the world are discovering the benefits of fat freezing procedures like CoolSculpting, and we’re receiving a lot of queries about it here at Cambridge Clear Beauty. One particular question that keeps cropping up is the subject of age limits.
The good news is that, as CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure, it isn’t a problematic as other treatments can be. There’s no particular regimen you have to adhere to before undertaking the procedure, there are no surgical operations that need to be performed, there’s no need for sedation, and the post-treatment downtime is next to minimal, depending on your current level of fitness.
Simply put, age is not necessarily a barrier when it comes to fat freezing.
Getting under the skin of the problem
However, there is one small issue that needs addressing when it comes to CoolSculpting procedures for the older client: skin laxity. This is a general loss of elasticity in the skin, and can be caused by stress, genetics, diet, long-term overexposure to the sun, smoking and weight fluctuations – but is mainly caused by natural aging.
As the equipment used in the procedure involves an element of suction (as the treated area is sucked in, so it’s in the best position to receive the fat freezing procedure), this means that certain skin areas may be too lax to be able to withstand the treatment. However, if the skin area in question has enough elasticity, there is no age barrier to CoolSculpting.
